SEMIYAN PAYASUM is south indian sweet dish made with vermicilli, ghee, milk, sugar and nuts.

  • Prep Time:  5 minutes
  •  Cook Time:  20 minutes

Ingredients of SEMIYAN PAYASUM

  • ½ cup Vermicelli
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • 6 Cashew nuts
  • 12 Raisins optional
  • 1 Cardamom crushed
  • Salt – a pinch
  • 2 cups Water

How to make SEMIYAN PAYASUM

  1. Heat a pan, add ghee and fry cashews.
  2. Now roast vermicelli with constant stirring.
  3. The vermicelli should turn golden. Set aside.
  4. Bring water to boil in a large kadhai.
  5. Add the roasted vermicelli and salt.
  6. Cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Add sugar and elachi in it. The cooked vermicelli turns transparent at this stage. Boil for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the milk.
  9. Add milk and bring to boil. Boil for a minute and switch off the stove.
  10. Garnish with fried cashews and raisins.
