Potato and pea curry


Potato and pea curry is an easy-to-prepare, slightly hot sauce made from potatoes, tomatoes, peas, spices, and herbs. It can be prepared without onions or garlic.


  • 2 medium potatoes boiled
  • 4 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 cups peas
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon red paprika powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1-2 tablespoons coriander leaves chopped
  • salt


  1. Heat the oil in a pan on low heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and fry until golden brown.
  3. Add the chopped garlic and grated ginger and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add the tomato puree and cook until soft and doughy. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pan and mix well.
  5. Add the frozen peas to the pan and cook for 2-2 minutes. Add the diced boiled potatoes to the pan and mix well with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Add 1 cup of water and bring the curry to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and cook for 10-10 minutes. Serve hot with rice or bread and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
