Ingredients of Gujarati Fafda 

  • 2 cups besan 
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp ajwain 
  • ¼ tsp baking soda 
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • water 
  • oil

How to Make Gujarati Fafda 

  • Add besan, turmeric, chilli powder, ajwain, baking soda and salt to taste.
  • Add 2 tbsp oil and mix well.
  • Add warm water to make smooth dough.
  • Add a tsp oil and coat the dough well.
  • Rest for 30 minutes.
  • Take a ball sized dough and make a cylindrical shape.
  • Press and stretch it thin with the help of palms in forward direction.
  • Scrape off with the help of knife.
  • Deep fry in hot oil.
  • Fry them for a minute or two, till they turn golden and crispy.
