Dahi Vada / Dahi Bhalle, is a famous street food and chaat recipe. In India almost all chaat houses and restaurants have it on their menu.
Soft and delicious Dahi Vada / Dahi Bhalle (lentil balls) dipped in a flavored yogurt and served with date chutney and mint chutney.
Ingredients to make Dahi Bhalle
For the dal balls:
- 1 cup Urad Dal (Black Gram Split shelled)
- 1 green chilli
- 1/2 inch of ginger
- Water as needed
- 2.5 cups yogurt, unflavored
- 2 pinches of salt
- 1 teaspoon of roasted cumin seeds
- 1 cup of Dahi
Supplement / Garnish:
- Sweet date chutney
- Spicy mint chutney
- Tamarind chutney
- Roasted cumin seeds
- red chilli powder
- chopped greed coriender leaves
- Oil for frying

soak dal overnight at least 5 to 10 hours. drain and grind them alone with chopped ginger and green chilli to get very fine paste.add cumin seeds into better and shake it into vada. Now keep one or two reasons and cashew nuts in the centre and and deep fry the balls still they are very light brown in colour. take care to keep the heat medium. Repeat with the remaining better. now just before serving heat some water and add little salt then switch off the flame and soft the bolls in it as you required. now in bowel beaten the cut add little salt .soak the bhallas with beaten curd tamarind chutney, Sweet date chutney, Spicy mint chutney, salt, spices,red chilli,roasted cumin seeds and Sprinkle chopped green coriender on the top.
