Cauliflower Kurma

Cauliflower kurma is a veg south indian recipe. It is made with nuts, seeds, and coconut. it is used with with Idly, Dosa or Roti.

Ingredients of Cauliflower Kurma

  • 2 tbs peanut oil
  • 2 tbs roasted gram dal
  • 2 tbs cumin seed
  • 2 dried red chilli
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1 tps salt
  • 3 tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • tamarind
  • 1 tbs turmeric
  • 2 tbs coriander powder
  • 1 cup fresh coconut
  • 1 tbs Peanut Oil
  • 1/2 tbs mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tbs cumin seeds
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 3 cups Cooked Cauliflower florets

How to Make Cauliflower Kurma

  1. Boil the Cauliflower in water for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add in the cumin, roasted gram and the dried red chilli and roast for some seconds.
  3. Add in the curry leaves, onions and salt.
  4. Once the onions are brown put tomatoes, coconut, tamarind, turmeric and coriander powderand saute for 10 minutes and cool down.
  5. Grind the mixture and make smooth paste.
  6. Take a kadhai and heat a tbs oil.
  7. Add in the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and the curry leaves and garam masala paste.
  8. Add water and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Add in the cooked Cauliflower and let it simmer for a couple of minutes more.
  10. Remove off heat. Your Cauliflower Kurma is ready.
