A summer heat wave and near-nationwide lockdown are reasons to park in a corner of your house with a pitcher of vodka cocktails. A big batch of vodka martinis, with a hint of lemon and fresh cherries, pretty much sounds the need of the hour. While we can all collectively agree that the lime and vodka combination hardly comes close to the lime and vodka combination, these vodka cocktails have a few different flavorful additions. Give them a chance.
Here are 5 refreshing vodka cocktail recipes to try.
1. Vodka and mint lemonade
Classic, original and almost unbeatable. Plus, you’ll need a pitcher of it, so fasten your belt.
- 4 limes or lemons cut into wedges and seeds removed
- Leaves of a medium-sized bunch of mint
- 8 cups of cold water
- ½ cup of sugar to taste
- 8 to 16 ounces of vodka about 1 to 2 cups, more or less to taste
- Ice cubes
- Lime or lemon slices for garnish
Place the limes or lemons cut into quarters in the blender with 2 cups of water, sugar or honey, ice and half the mint leaves. Mix until the limes or lemons are mashed, the mixture should be slightly frothy with a whitish color. Strain the lemonade and add the remaining 6 cups of water. Stir in vodka or allow guests to add vodka according to their preferences. Serve with ice and garnish with mint leaves and remaining lime slices
